Discussion on the Definition and Classification of Detection Limit

More Information
  • Revised Date: September 03, 2007
  • Based on the regulations on detection limit from both national and international standards and characteristics of geoanalysis, the definition and classification of detection limit were discussed in this paper. Three special terms on the detection limit definition and classification including instrument detection limit (IDL), method detection limit (MDL) and sample detection limit (SDL) were proposed.
