Direct Determination of Yttrium-group Rare Earth Elements in Monazite Ore by Atomic Emission Spectrometry

  • A method has been established for the determination of yttrium group REEs in monazite ore by atomic emission spectrometry. The analytical spectral lines were selected correctly based on the study on interference from spectral lines of coexistent elements in range of 260.00~360.00 nm. Carbon powder was used as buffer ands scandium was selected as internal standard element. Yttrium-group REEs were determined directly by atomic emission spectrometry without any chemical treatment. The method is simple, rapid and feasible with precision of 1.6%~6.2% RSD (n=12) and accuracy of RE<±12.0% for these elements.
