Influence of High Intensity Simulated Acid Rain on Heavy Metal Element Release from Moisture Soils in Pearl River Delta
-
ABSTRACT
This article studied the influence of high intensity simulated acid rain (average of 30 years rainfall in this area) on releasing of some heavy metal elements such as Cd, Co, Cu, Zn, Pb, As, Ti, V, Cr and Mn from moisture soil in Pearl River Delta. Inductively coupled plasmamass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was used for the determination of heavy metal elements leached from the moisture soil by high intensity simulated acid rain. The study showed that the releasing behaviours of these heavy metal elements in moisture soil were different. Under the longterm acid rain leaching, Cd, Co, Cu, Zn and Pb were washed away in varying degrees at different soil depths, but without much lose of As, Ti, V, Cr and Mn. These differences can help us to evaluate the potential impact of the heavy metal elements on the environment and provide a basis of early warning and prediction for agro-ecosystem.
