X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometric Analysis of Major Components in Bauxite Samples

ABSTRACT
In this article a method for determining Al2O3,SiO2,Fe2O3,TiO2 in bauxite samples by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry has been proposed. The bauxite sample was fused with lithium tetraborate and lithium metaborate as fusing reagent, lithium bromide as de-moulding reagent. Calibration curves were prepared with standard samples in the same way as the sample preparation. The method has been applied to the determination of these components in bauxite samples and the results are in agreement with those by chemical methods with advantages of high accuracy and precision, simple operation and more efficiency.
