Abstract: The jade is an important gem resource. The Chinese scholars in this research field had acquired many research achievements in recent years. In this paper recent progresses on Burma jade research including the mineralogy of jade, color-causing mechanism of jade, research on jade origin, synthetic techniques of jade and identification techniques of jade, color detection techniques of jade were reviewed.
