Abstract:
Diffuse reflection infrared Fourier transform spectrometry (DRIFTS) with middleinfrared range (MIR) has been used for determination of six key properties of brown coal samples including internal moisture, volatile matter, sulfur content, high calorific power, net calorific power and reduction coefficient, with satisfactory results. The relative errors for these six key properties are 3.4%, 2.0%, 4.0%, 1.4%, 2.5% and 2.2%, respectively. It provides a new method for rapid analysis and evaluation of coal quality.
