Abstract:
The structure and chemical composition of seven pieces of blue and white porcelains excavated from Mantai site of Sri Lanka were studied by different techniques including X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, synchrotron radiation X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, neutron activation analysis and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. Based on the cluster analysis for the chemical composition data of the porcelains from both China and Mantai site of Sri Lanka, it was found that four pieces of blue and white porcelains were made in Jingdezhen, China and the provenances for the other three pieces need further study.
